Last week I was allowed to go to Snow School. Snow School is where a group of us go out, and learn to survive in the Antarctic. We learned how to make a snow wall (whichs protects a tent and campsite from wind) made out of large ice/snow bricks. We learned how to make a quinze. A quinze is a shelter where you sleep. There were 4 of us girls sleeping in the quinze. We learned how to put up Antarctic tents, and securely fasten them to the ground so the wind wouldnt blow them away. We learned how to cook outdoors.. and a bunch of other things. It was really interesting, and I had a great time...although it was A LOT of hard work...shovelling and sawing!!
