How depressing, it's time to go home! We were all packed up, and able to hit the pool for an hour; hopefully a chance to let the kids let some steam off before the long trip home. Again, we couldn't find sunbeds, so we found a little chair to dump our towels on, while we splashed some annoying American women!
We had buffet brunch to fill our fuel tanks up. More strange mixtures of pizza, pasta, ribs, mash, salads, ice ream, cheese, cakes, cookies etc etc etc, then check out to return the car. All feeling quite dejected at this point, especially knowing what a long haul we have ahead of us.
The plane was delayed 1 hour, and there wasn't a lot to do in the airport, (so that was why I had to buy 7 magazines, honestly!!) Tegs talked me into buying a Clinique lip gloss for her; my girl is going to have expensive tastes, and I don't know who she takes after.......
We got on the plane and Lyn managed to move an elderly couple out of their allocated seats and into others, when they looked at our kids with a look of horror! Miserable buggers! We were glad to have the extra room upstairs, but it's still not comfortable spending over 9 hours on a plane. None of us slept much.
Off at the other end, and onto the M25, and an hours traffic jam. Welcome home, and back to reality!!
So, did we enjoy ?
Yes, we had a fantastic time.
What was our favourite bits?
Mine were Zion and Antelope Canyon. Lyn's was the Harley and Arches and the food. Ioan's was the food! Tegs loved the observatory, and Cian loved riding Dolphy and Bryce Canyon.
Would we do a similar holiday again?
Definitely!
Did we spend loads of money?
Yes, and then loads more!
Was it worth it?
Definitely!
What would we do differently?
Maybe less driving for Lyn, (Over 3,200 miles, and over 70 hours in the car), and build in more chill out days.
Did we manage to travel light?
Yes, only 2 bags going out, plus 2 smaller ones coming back!
Was Luce chained to an iron, like she is at home?
Luce only ironed once or twice, (that's per holiday, not per day!)
Are we depressed right now?
Totally!
Where are we planning next year?
A month in California (L.A. /Big Sur /San Fransisco/Yosemite) if we can save enough!
Do you want me to do another blog?
