The food was quite good, but it's still early days yet! Fingers crossed the kitchen was cleaner than the loo!
It was quite a scary place, and gave us maybe a taste of "real" America, and not the usual tourist traps we go to. As Lyn said, the women have to be hard here, to survive. Boiling temperatures in the summer, heavy snow in the winter, miles from anywhere, and little money. Got to be tough!
We carried on from Bluff, and onto Monument Valley. In the far distance we could see the sky getting darker and darker in one area. We could see it was a real heavy storm. Where we heading? Yep, right into it! We saw lightning like we've never seen. Huge sheet lightning, and massive forks. It was a real spectacle; you didn't know which was to look. Imagine it over the huge spires of Monument valley. It was awesome. We had our first rain too, really heavy drops, and the temperature dropped 20 degrees in 10 minutes. The clouds were amazing. Ioan kept seeing pictures in them, and we saw "heaven" where shafts of sunlight were coming down (Ioan said if we drove into that we'd be carried up to heaven!), and we also saw "hell", (a big black cloud waiting to drag us right down!) It all made driving very difficult for Lyn.
