Where I stayed
Great Western Plus, Canyonlands
Park City was very busy, as there was an interstate kids football competition going on. We had visited this Outlet mall before and loved it....Abercrombie & Fitch, Aeropostale, Columbia, Nike, Gap.....the credit card took a bit of a bashing, and tempers got a bit frayed! The shops were extremely busy, and the temperature inb the 90’s. Tempers were eased with some Harry & David malt balls, and a vist to McD’s for the kids’ lunch. Lyn and I had a quick gallop around Whole Foods to find our lunch, and bought two stunning salads, and Lyn had some soup and sushi, while I had the world’s best toasted sandwich; foccaccia with basil pesto, swiss cheese, spinach and red onion. Can’t wait to shop in Whole Foods properly in Boulder!
It’s 7.15pm now, and we’re about 10 miles from Moab. We love this place; this will be our third visit! I don’t think we can check in, eat and make Arches National Park for sunset, so something will have to give. Tomorrow will be a very busy day too...canyoneering at 8am, and a sunset hummer tour in the evening, plus time needed by the pool, shopping, eating and visiting the Tom Till photographic gallery. It’s going to be a rush......we’ll definitely have to come back. It’s so good to be back in the land of Red Rocks......
11.15pm now, and after checking into our hotel, having a good feed at Pasta Jay’s and an expensive visit to the Tom Till gallery where I finally bought one of his photos,a nd am having it shipped to the UK (excited!!), it’s time for bed. Bit nervous about tomorrow.......it was my idea to do it, but it’s well out of my comfort zone.....oh well, nothing ventured nothing gained! Speak to you tomorrow, if I survive a 90 foot abseil off a rope into a slot canyon!
