Well, we were all up at 6.15am, had a quick breakfast and were on our way, saying good bye to East Glacier and our time in the park. Lyn felt rather stiff; in fact he could just about walk, but Io's legs are fine!

We had 630 long miles to go, the first 130 not on an interstate. We left at 7.15am, and after being frightened by a deer that suddenly bounded like Zebbeddee across our carriage way and over the fence into the fields beyound, reached the town of Butte (pronounced Beaut, and not Butt, as we soon found out!). We stopped there for food at 11am, in a Denny’s, where Cian managed to pull! Our server, Heather, totally fell in love with him, and wanted to adopt him! She is part Welsh, and lurrrved our accents. We taught her a few words of Welsh, and told her the kids names. She wrote Cian’s name down as she liked it so much, in case she has a boy! We ended up taking a photo of Cian with his American Mom, and she even wrote her telephone number down for him! Way to go boy!

After a huge feed in Denny’s (we can recommend Pancake Puppies, little balls of pancake dough rolled in cinnammon and sugar and deep fried with dipping syrup, no calories at all......!!) we were back on the road . We reached Idaho at 2pm, and took a stop at our favourite Army Surplus store there at 3.30, which is huge, and filled with every inconceivable thing you never thought you needed. We had last visited there 2 years ago on our way down from Yellowstone , and the kids loved it! We stocked up on "essentials" for the kids, and we were back in the car; 173 miles to go to Ogden in Utah, our base for the night.

We got into Ogden, knackered, and found our hotel, to see what restaurant was the closest. You guessed it, Denny’s it was again; the second time today! No Pancake Puppies tghis time, or any offers of adoption, just a simple meal, then back to the hotel for a quick swim, and an unpleasant soak in a luke warm  jacuzzi. We were all eager to get to sleep, only to be woken at 5am by the cans of coke Ioan had wisely put in the freezer (!) exploding.......
