OMG. St George, Utah. Where do I start? I just LOVE it here. We've been here for 6 nights, and I don't want to go. I would quite happily not go to Sedona and stay here. I thought I'd like it here, as it's close to Zion, and Zion is only 35 miles away, (about 45 minutes), and Zion is my favourite place on earth. I also love Utah, but St George is now my favourite place to stay in Utah. It's surrounded by red rocks, it's really beautiful.

St George is southern Utah, and the temperature is HOT! It's been well over 100 degrees every day. Luckily our condo has excellent air conditioning! St George is a predominantly Mormon towm, there's loads of Latter Day Saint Churches, including a lovely looking Mormon temple. The town is really fast growing; in fact it's the second biggest growing place in the US. It's quite spread out, but got loads of shops, restaurants etc. It's also got a fab huge Barnes & Noble bookshop!

We're in a condo in the Green Valley complex. It's brilliant; really good accommodation and really cheap! We've got 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a nice kitchen/dining/living area. It's got a huge 5 seater sofa, with a huge stool for stratching our legs out on, whilst watching Michael Phelps win his golds!

There's 6 pools in the complex. There's a small pool & hot tub just accross from us that we've made good use of. We've tended to have mostlt lazy days, due to the heat, and then go out late afternoon, so we've spent a lot of time in the water cooling off. There's also a fantastic spa and another big outdoor pool area, where the kids have been loving the spring board over the 12 foot deep diving pool. None of them have ever been off a diving board before, let alone a spring board. Tegs took to it quite easily, but stuck to simple jumps off. Io took to it like a duck to water, and was running and doing mid air somersaults off it in minutes. Cian was nervous about being out of his depth, but with Dad's careful coaching he was jumping off with ease befre too long! Lyn had a few jumps, and even I jumped off once, after a lot of "I can't do it!'s,a nd false starts. I hate spring boards! There's also a really nice pool for serious laned swimming. I'd definitely come back here, and so would the kids, they love it!

I did have one strange experince by the little pool near our condo. Lyn and Io were in the condo, whilst Tegz and Ci were in the pool, and I was on a sun lounger by the pool. A little boy mananged to stop breathing, and amidst the panic I had to scoop gunk out of his mouth to get him breathing again. All this whilst holding a bay girl that had been thrust on me by a panicking American woman! Actually, it was really scary; he was turning blue, and his eyes were rolling, and he'd gone limp. I was so glad he was ok, after all the shaking, back thumping and mouth scooping whilst baby holding. Thank God I didn't need to do mouth to mouth. I was more shook up the day after, when I thought about what could have happened. His mum was so grateful "Thankyou for saving my baby!"

All par for course on our holiday; earthquakes, forest fires, stitches, emergencies.....

Shame we have to leave tomorroow, I love it here.
