Didn't really appreciate how pleasant our overnight camp spot was till I looked outside this morning.  Gosh Mrs Sellers has already found a new best friend, they've been having a right old yarn, next minute the husband of Mrs Sellers's new best friend revs up his chain saw and starts ripping up some fire wood, presumably for their next overnight stop.  Mean while, I'm much to busy stowing things away and remembering what to turn off & on before we break camp this morning.  Break camp, sounds so professional.  As I'm empting the rubbish I spot Fred casual as you like gossiping with our neighbour( the campfire lady), Mrs Sellers has been called away on an errand and it looks as though Fred has filled the void.  Driving along to our next stop which will hopefully be a hardware store in Munduberra I asked Fred about his riveting conversation with the camp fire lady.  I have to say I'm quite shocked, apparently in no time at all she had told Fred that her husband had no testosterone, which had been making him very agitated and very cranky, one assumes he is now taking tablets for this problem or perhaps the chainsaw is his medication, she also revealed that she was 66 years old.  How very weird, Fred gave me his word that he didn't have to trade any info about me to get her to spill the beans on her husband. Hmmm.
We arrived in Munduberra on show day most of the shops were closed but as luck would have it the Mitre 10 was open.  The man at Mitre 10 was so lovely he tried very hard to sort out our shopping list, but had to concede after 40 minutes that he was unable to do so however he was happy to suggest that we might have better luck at the hardware store just up the street that sold everything.  He was not wrong it did appear to sell everything.  Baz thought he was in Aladdin's cave.  In no time at all our shopping list was complete.  I just happened to ask out of the blue if they sold stamps, and to my amazement, he did.  We then paid a visit to Dudley's Tyre shop for fuel, when I went to pay for the diesel, good old trust worthy Dudley asked me how much was it, as he didn't have one of those things in the office that registered how much fuel you put in.   Dudley waved us off with a big smile and a have a lovely trip, all part of the service at Dudley's Tyre Shop.
I'm really kicking myself for not taking pictures when we crossed the Burnett River, the devastation caused by the 2010 floods is awesome, the power and volume of water that must have come down the river is unimaginable, the scarring on the river banks and the trees ripped out of the ground is a sight to behold.  We stopped at Eidsvold for lunch, RM Williams has a bush learning centre there, it's also a museum for bush art and crafts.  What a surprise our campfire buddies from last night had also stopped there for lunch.  I mentioned to Mrs Sellers that I thought her and the campfire lady seem to be getting on like a house on fire this morning. " Yes" she said, I couldn't believe it we've both had the same bladder ops but with different suspenders, hang on, I think that might be suspensions, we even know the same surgeons.  Oh it is a small world when it comes to bladder operations.  Good job I was busy stowing and packing at the time.
We also passed through Cracow which I actually thought was in Poland.  Cracow's life blood at the moment is dependent on the workers camp based a couple of miles out of town.  The laying of  gas pipes is providing quite a lot of employment out here in the west.  The countryside we are passing through is just beautiful, lovely rolling hills as far as the eye can see.
We arrive in Theodore about 4.30pm and made our way to the campsite.  It's called the junction because the park is bordered on both sides by the river.  It looks so pretty, there are quite a lot of vans in but it is certainly not over crowded.  We meet our neighbours who are preparing a campfire and have John Williams cranked up for atmosphere, it's all good.  The amenities are spot on, hot showers etc, it's run by the Lions club who ask for a donation only.  It doesn't get much better than this.  Oh I forgot to mention the lovely lady who chatted to us on the 2 way for about 20 minutes and guided us into town, she also spoke about the devastation of the floods and how the spirit of the community has got the town back on it's feet.  Just looking around you would never guess that 3 years ago they were underwater.
PS Fred was getting a bit upset this morning, he thought the gas stove had a fault, just one more thing not working he mutters in a very disappointed voice. " What's the problem" I ask. "This back burner on the stove, it's broken, the knob won't push in." " Perhaps that's because it's an electric plate." I answer rather smugly. Drrrrr!
May 11th: Theodore  Time to get the bikes out and pedal around town, and what a lovely experience that was.  We have decided to stay here one more day, enjoy our surroundings and chill out.  Outback Bazza is giving us a cooking demo tonight, we are having a piece of pork cooked in the campoven, and Fred is going to treat us to his crispy roast potatoes - happiness on a plate. As we sat under Bazza's awning waiting for our dinner to cook we thought the evening was going to be spoilt by rain.  We had some very heavy drops then it stopped, then it started again.  Next minute Baz is on his feet, that's not rain, that's possum piss.  Sure enough when he shone the torch into the tree a very cute little possum was staring back.  What I don't understand is that there are hundreds of trees in this park, why has he chosen that particular tree to urinate from.  The little bugger kept on doing it and even had the nerve to climb down to the foot of the tree and let us see who was doing all the damage.  The pork was done to perfection and the spuds were well up to Fred's high standard - well done boys.
