We've only spent a few hours in Bergen, but we love it already. It's quaint and picturesque, and it reminds us a great deal of Reykjavik. We walked around the rainy city and peered out at the beautiful harbor and surrounding green hills. We stayed in a very nice room with young women from Norway, South Korea, and the Netherlands (at this point, we've also stayed with people from Australia, Germany, Sweden, Istanbul, New Zealand, and more).
We planned to leave for Flam early the morning after we arrived in Bergen, but we wanted to drop off our small duffel bags at the hostel we were scheduled to check into the evening of our return to Bergen. We walked around looking for it, and found the hostel's name on an awning, completely worn off. As it turns out, this hostel (which we booked like any of the others we've stayed in) no longer exists. We managed to book rooms in the first hostel we stayed at in Bergen, but the experience was strange all the same. After the excitement was over, we boarded the train to Flam!
