We arrived in Santiago at 6am having only managed a couple of hours sleep, so took a power nap in our hostel before catching a bus to Valparaiso. 2 hours west of Santiago, Valparaiso is set on the Pacific Coast with many narrow streets, colourful houses and plentiful street art. Clare got a little carried away with the photography so we've had to do some selective editing.

In the evening we met up with a British friend who has lived in Santiago for the last 3 years. He took us to a restaurant and some great local bars, where we had a few drinks. We ended up enjoying some live Chilean music in an atmospheric bar until 4am.
