Bread Run at 700.

Materials and Assemblies and a shower until 930.

Sketch class at 930. We went to one of the old Medieval gates in the city outside of Piazza di Ferrari. Have to finish them later. The perspectives were tough. Will scan and upload for them. While we were out there was a union rally for public transit employees. They were on the Piazza behind some buildings and I swear it sounded like a revolution was beginning. Honestly, it sounded like a Nazi rally. It was actually very creepy. WHile we sit on the streets and sketch people are so interested in what we are doing. Even Italian tourists stop and take their pictures with us. Henrique says it's because the people don't see many people just sketching anymore and they love it.

The street that we were on was a wonderful one. Very colorful. Will have to go back, but not sure when. We have homework over our trip next week which is ten sketches. Yea, hate it. I am going to miss this class. I finally had to ask Henrique for some advice on my sketches. He doesn't say much to me about them. I had some proportions off. I will say my perspective drawing is much better and I am drawing a bit more straight on the page; but I tend to not give myself enough room to get the entire image in the screen.

After sketch class we stopped at two art stores. I need good watercolor paper and markers, but we forgot they close from 1230 -1530 for their afternoon lunch. Hm. Such a great deal to live like that! But not very American ;)

Walked back up to the Villa. It's warm today but not too warm. A cooler breeze is blowing. Lunch was Grandma De Stefano's doing. Outstanding Eggplant Parmesan. The tomato sauce was SO flavorful and what I assume they would call robust. It had so much flavor and was thick and yummy. There was almost more sauce than eggplant (probably why I liked it- but truly the flavor was so yummy!). Had it with another pasta- penne with green peas and ham, like a pasta salad we would make at home. I am finding that I like my bigger meal at lunch, and then am just eating a little at dinner.
