We decided to stop at a Maasai tribal village on the way out of the Mara. The Maasai are the predominant tribe in the Mara and they have a lifestyle all their own that focuses on cattle and hunting. We paid $25 each, which goes toward their "community development," and then were greeted by them with song and a guided tour. We sat in one of their mud huts and then shopped in their village shop before we escaped their bargaining zeal. We had a two-hour trip ahead of us to Bomet, the location of Tenwek Hospital.
