25th wedding anniversary
Trip Start Dec 07, 2004
116Trip End Ongoing
We celebrated our anniversary by getting up early (seems to be a recurring theme), catching the first ferry back across the Gulf of Nicoya to the mainland, and then driving south along the coast of the Pacific Ocean.
We met with our lawyer last night, and as is typical in Ticoland, something wasn´t working. Luckily for us, it was her car, not ours so she had taken a bus to Tambor for our meeting. She lives near our treehouse, so we gave her a ride almost home.
As usual, the crocodiles ignored us when we stopped to see them in the Tarcoles River. We had celebratory drinks on the beach - batidos made with fresh mangoes, pineapple, bananas and guava. We arrived at Ballena Marina National Park mid-afternoon, where we swam at our favourite deserted beach and arrived at the treehouse community just as it was getting dark. We had the choice to go home in the almost darkness when it wasn´t raining or to have dinner with everyone and take cour chances walking home later. We gambled. and won!
Our treehouse is decorated with flowers all along the entry way, and bouquets everywhere inside! They had even made a sign for us that said ¨happy anniversary¨¨!
Graham and Pixie gave me a great gift - they made 2 trips from the car to our treehouse, carrying the groceries, while I unpacked and got us settled.
