Back to Playa Hermosa - our base in Costa Rica. We're on a crescent-shaped beach. We love the lack of vendors and the amount of space that we have. Our Beau Frere and My Niece are here too for our second week. It's easy to spot each other every day on this beach - and we can''t help comparing it to some beaches in other parts of the world where you can't find a spot to lay your towel.
In fact, the town of Playa Hermosa itself is a quiet little town where our girls have not been able to do any shopping. It is not touristy, not full of big resorts or all-inclusives, so if that's what you are looking for - don't stop here.
There is another Playa Hermosa in Costa Rica and we are at the northern one in the province of Guanacaste. This is the dry tropical forest, where we haven't seen a cloud on the beach since we arrived and where everything looks like it hasn't rained for months.
We are leaving our lovely little inn. Goodbye to the hammocks and the pool on the beach. Goodbye to the rocking chairs near the lending library, on the second floor where you can hear the waves on the beach.
