The other day I went out for a beer with one of my Greek friends. I asked him about his thoughts about the EU's future, effectiveness and fate. As an answer, he brought up the case of the ancient association of greek city-states, the Delian-league. Then, the most powerfull of the city-states, Athens, swallowed the others in a couple of decades...
