So, I have forgotten a lot of the historical info of this part of the weekend trip.  I can't remember if this is from the Mayans or Aztecs.

The pyramid is larger than Giza apparently, they said.  It was, however, buried when the Spanish came because they wanted to convert the indigenous people to Christianity.  So, they buried it and built a cathedral on top.  There are these tunnels archeologists built to explore within, but they are closed right now for restoration so we couldn't go in them :(  Some of the pyramid is exposed as you can see in the pictures.  It is sooooo big!!!  There was a small set of stairs we could climb up and I have taken pictures there.  We then walked all the way to the top on the earth part to see the cathedral.  I have no interest in that so I just checked out the view of Cholula and Puebla in the distance.  There are pictures of these views as well.  While walking around, we encountered some street vendors selling crickets.. ew... I took a picture.  Some of the kids tried it.  I consider myself to be pretty open to trying new foods, but crickets are definitely not something I am ready for.
