Buy a bunch of metal gear at the 666 rock store, stuff my face fool of my favourite street foods, then get pissed at a metal bar - that's what!!!
Still, this is a temporary fix.......... I will be back, oh yes, I will be back. 再见中国。我真的爱你。
Anyway, here's some details for some cool rock venues in Beijing

Mao Livehouse
This place reminded me heaps of the Tote in Melbourne. Great band room, with seperate bar @ front and upstairs area. Great PA and a Qingdao beer costs around 20 yuan
Where: - 111 Guloudong st (鼓楼东大街）in the dongcheng district(东城 ) near the Drum Tower (鼓楼)。 Basically head left from the back of the drum tower and walk for about 5 mins
13 Club
I really liked this bar. It's meant to be a metal bar, but unfortunately, on the 2 nights I went, no metal was to be heard. It's kinda under a net cafe in the uni district. Heaps of metal stuff for sale, and the manager usually plays metal over the stereo, and do they have good cheap beer. They have a lager and DARK BEER ON TAP!!!! and it'll only stinh ya 15-20 yuan BRUTAL!!
Where: Haidian district (海淀区), near the Lanqiying bus stop. Best way to get there is by Subway. Catch the #13 and get off at Wudaokou (五道口) & head west (basically left) or take the #4 and get off at the East Gate of Peking University (北京大学东门) and head east (right). You'll have to walk for a bit. Maybe grab some bbq lamb on the way if your coming from wudaokou. Look for a sign lit up in red just off the street a bit

Another reminder of a Melbourne, this one, The Arthouse. More of a punk venue, again with really cheap beer on tap. Cool punk vibe with some cool bands and a PA more than up to the job.
Where: a couple of doors down from the 13 club. Good to get your fill of punk & metal in one night!

The guys who run this stole my dream!!! This is a cool little venue with both inside & outside bar & BBQ!!!!! Perfect for a big rock 'n' roll night. Band room pretty small, but good sound & good vibe.
Where: - Chaoyang district(朝阳区), Maple drive-in complex。 Take the #10 subway to liangmahe (亮马河) stop, and head towards the drive in (east I think, best ask someone. Drive in = qiche dianying yuan (汽车电影院))
