Well its taken a long time to do, I have had good and bad dasy and there are quite a few stories to tell, but for now, (I have too many things to get organised to bore you with tales of flat tires and crazy dogs chasing me) suffice it is for me to say that I have arrived in Bar Harbour, Maine, the end pointo fthis almost 2500 miles of solo cycling.
It has been a wonderful experience (although probably not the thing for everybody) and I feel incredibly accomplished, but the best part is the knowledge that the PArkinsons' Society and all of thoise who somehow benefit from the services they offer, is a little richer because of my efforts and can hence help more people more thoroughly. That brings me to say a huge thank you to everybody who has played any part in this adventure, from those kind people who read my blog and made me feel a little less alone the whole way, to those folk who mailed and text messaged me and of course sponsored me, to those I met en route who helped me in some way ranging from the cold drinks to giving me a place to stay for the night. Thank you everybody as without you the trip would have been much harder if not impossible.
In terms of the sponsorship I am overwhelmed with the response. In a perfect world I would like to have marketed the who challenge more effectively but that was just not possible what with everything else going on in day to day life. It really did feel like a full time job organising this fund raiser and its not over yet as I have a lot of things to gradually wrap up...So I thought that a value of 4000 pounds wasa goal to aim for and altthough the online sponsor meter (viewable either through my website or on the Thanksgiving website) suggests 1600, when I add on the offline sponsorship values then the 4000 mark is totally within sight!! I am still bowled over by everybody's generosity and cant thank people enough, it really inspired me and kept me going when I would turn a corner to see yet another hill and felt my heart sink to see the destination town for the night is still 30 miles more away.

So I will be adding more to this blog and updating my web site in the next weeks, along with new edited and annotated photos, a more thorough blog and a comprehensive thankyou list to the individuals who have helped me in any of the above listed ways. So keep a look out for that. In the meantime here are some more photos to keep you entertained, though you might have to guess where they are as I dont have time to annotate today.(you may have to look back to some of the entries to find upoaded photos, I have tried to keep them reasonably relevant to the dialogue, eg Virginia photos attached to the Virginia blog etc!)

The donation site is open for business until the 10th of October. www.justgiving.com/gavincrump
