I awoke early this morning, guess my body is still on daylight savings time. After getting ready for the day, we went out for breakfast. This is our habit on days when we leave, that way we don't have a lot of dirty dishes left for a week.

So we returned home, finished packing The Hammer and then sat around for about an hour. Since Bandera is less than 50 miles from San Antonio, we couldn't leave home too early. Finally got on the road about 9:45, me driving The Hammer and Bob driving the car. We opted to take the car since we are close to home and this way we can go somewhere without having to beg a ride from someone.

Bandera is the Cowboy Capital of Texas and the town is quaint. They have hitching posts in front of some of the stores for the cowboys to use to hitch their horses. Seriously, there are days when you can see cowboys riding their horses down the middle of the street. That is how you know you live in Texas!

I arrived at Skyline Ranch RV Park about 11:15 with Bob about thirty minutes behind (not that he was driving slow, he had several places to stop before he could get on the way). We hooked up and set up house then relaxed for a bit.

About 1 pm we went to lunch with three other couples. We went to Camp Verde, TX. Camp Verde is the site of a camel experiment. The facility was established in 1855-58 and abandoned in 1869. There are some ruins but they are on private property. The only thing visible from the road is two guard towers. It's an interesting story if you want to look it up, just GOOGLE Camp Verde, TX. Today there is a "general store" with a restaurant. It is a little on the pricy side, but it's a neat building and part of it has been there over 100 years.

On our way back to Skyline, we saw a bunch of buffalo grazing by the side of the road.

We arrived back at The Hammer about 3 pm. I finished putting some things out on the outside then started work on installing some storage drawers under the kitchen sink, so now we have lots of little cubbies to fill.

Currently Bob is watching the WWE (gag) and I'm writing this. The rally doesn't actually get under way until Thursday evening, but most arrive early just to visit and catch up. Tomorrow I will go into town to get some pictures and the history of Bandera.
