For all of you parents out there I have warning. today and tomorrow I will be posting and I will most likely not see your child. Unfortuanetly, it is that time of the trip that the students go off on their homestays. Now that you know that I will continue.
Today I went and visited all sorts of tourist attractions in SuZhou. I went to the lingering garden first. There I saw about four hundred to five hundred tourists packed into this fairly small sized garden. I just couldn't concentrate, let alone learn anything or appreciate the garden. next we went and visited tiger hill. Tiger hill is this big hill with the Chinese version of the leaning tower of Piza on top. The tower was built for a memorial to a dead important person, I'm not certian, I know one of the towers in SuZhou is like that. It had all sorts of things to do there. There were horse rides, all sorts of walking, way more things than the tower to see and more. I would like to show you some pictures but I left my camera at home for most of this day. The only pictures are from PanMen. Next we went to Guan Qian road and had lunch at this little noodle shop that was amazing. I loved it. afterwards we went home and picked up my homestay's homework (he still had a tutor to go see, even on a national holiday) so it was just me and my host mom. A little note on my host mom, she speaks english well enough for me to speak to her in english if I can't say anything in Chinese. It is very convenient to say the least. We went to PanMen, the last remaining ancient gate into SuZhou. It too had a tower, as you can see. I did all sorts of touristy things like ringing a bell and shooting arrows, but it was still fun. That was my first day by myself with my host family.
