So we've been living on the road for about 7 months and it's not at all what I expected. Of course. Life rarely is.
We've driven all over the place and ended up in Texas for the last few months mainly staying with family. This is such a blessing because it's cold and most of the campgrounds are closed for the winter. God's timing is perfect as usual. He gave Erin an idea for a book so we've been writing while staying warm inside. We've actually been blessed with the opportunity to hang out with our good friend, Emily. She graciously agreed to illustrate Erin's book. She's one of those people that ooze talent. Thank you, Emily!
I can already say I wouldn't trade what I've learned over the last few months for anything. But, I can also say I'm tired of moving around and living out of plastic containers. Both things are true. Another truth is we want to be faithful to what God is calling us to do which feels mostly obscure right now. I have to admit I want a place of respite. A place where the momentum stops and I don't have to dig for my toothbrush. Walking into a bathroom and having everything handy is an awesome thing and although it sounds funny, it shouldn't be taken for granted. A place of my own, that's what I miss. I don't want to sound ungrateful to those who have shared their homes with us because, believe me, I'm very grateful. But, it's just not the same.
I can feel change coming again as the season changes and we finish up the book. We'll be on the road again soon unless God has other plans.
Until next time,
S
