The past four years have prepared me for what Father has called Shannon and I into.  It was so hard for me to learn to be supple and I am still struggling with that topic.  It is a great goal of mine to see Father create and manifest in me the things that He has taught me about trusting, following, and surrendering.  The flesh is constantly trying to gain momentum, rise up, and wage war within me, in order to keep me from following.  The flesh wants to lord, it does not want to submit.  Thank You Father that You already know all this and are so patient with Your children.

This trip started all wrong, is going all wrong, and is continuing to head in a wrong direction: according to my flesh and logic.  THANK GOD!!!  This trip is not about what I think I know, or about what I think I want.  It is about Shannon and I growing closer to Father and each other and others.  So far this trip has perfectly done that.  We wanted to head north out of the heat: we are smack in the middle of the heat.  We wanted to be out in nature being quiet and listening: we are smack in the middle of the endless amount of labor that it takes to make this youth camp function, bustling in brotherly love and service.  We wanted to be on the motorcycle with the breeze in our hair: we have only had the time to ride the bike one time together and once for me to test the trailer hitch.  For all this we praise God, for it is in this that we realize He truly is in charge of our lives and that we are surrendered to His will and not our own.

To those of you who are seeing this clearly and wrestling with it, take heart and keep the faith, Father will see you through.  To those who don't see this way or may be offended by all this, have mercy with us and join us in growing together in grace, so that one day soon we may see eye to eye on this and all other matters concerning faith and hope and love.

Thank You so much Father that You are patient and full of mercy toward Your children.  May we take Jesus' prayer in John 17 to heart and make every effort to surrender to the answer of that prayer.  May we come into agreement with You and Jesus and the Spirit and purposefully submit to becoming one just as You and Your Son are one.  Thank You that this is possible in You and that we can actually realize that unity.  Continue to change us from within and give us the strength to become supple and surrendered and submitted, not to our will or understanding, but to Your good and right and perfect will.  In Jesus name.

Much love,

You have a way of expressing yourself that touches my heart...The growth you and Shannon are experiencing is awesome.

God is Faithful to His promises. He is doing what He said, He is fulfilling his purpose in this trip, and He is sustaining you. Just Stand. I am moved by the transparency and vulnerability that you have allowed us to see. We are praying and agreeing with you. I am excited for you both!
