Yesterday we crossed over the border at Ogdenberg and headed into New York state.  We took a northern route along the St. Lawrence seaway.  We went through many small towns, each just as beautiful as the other.  We keep wondering where in BC we can find small towns like this.  Most of them run 5,000 - 9,000 people.  They are all so neat and tidy and of course everything is very green.  We drove across a very large bridge and entered Vermont just after lunch and then headed down the #2 highway, down the lake champlain islands.  We almost missed the campground, as we came around the corner and there it was.  As is, we came in the exit cause we missed the entrance.  This place is huge and has many permanent residents in park model trailers.  There is a small golf course and a large pool with hot tub.  There is a club house that has a great library, large kitchen and a room for watching tv.  Of course, once we were here we had to get the work done, so off I went to the laundry and once that was done........we washed the truck and the trailer.  They look so much better now, without all the alberta and saskatchewan dirt and dust.  By then we were tired so veged for the rest of the evening.  Today off we went in search of a grocery store.  Tried to find it with the gps, but superstore is not a grocery store down here and we ended up at an appliance store but luckily there was a grocery store nearby.  After having lunch we took off up island and went searching out some areas, talked to some nice people and looked over some old merchandise.  Then back home to relax and enjoy the sunshine.  Tomorrow we head out on the #89 down to montpelier and then over to the #2 and head over to New Hampshire.  I am hoping to see at least one of the covered bridges in Vermont along the way.  I don't suppose that the trailer would fit on them, so hopefully they have a spot where we can turn it around.
