15th Aug:
Back on Ofu Island for one night before going back to VaVa'u I did much the same as I did the 3 nights I was there before ie: nothing lol.
The old lady running the place made me to shell necklaces for my daughters free of charge she does it for all the guests but as I told her I have 2 daughters she made me 2 what a lovely gesture, the time she puts in to them is far more than you would think, she has to make a hole in each shell to thread them, that alone takes forever but a great result, the down side was posting them back to the UK as I didn't want to carry them for a year, £8 something to post a free gift! Say my good byes the next morning and back on the boat to the main land of VaVa'u.
16th Aug:
Book in Adventure backpackers again, same room and bed, go out and find a place to take me whale watching the next day, that sorted time for a beer or 2.
17th Aug:
Board the boat for whale watching 7 of us, 3 from Hong Kong, 1 OZ, 1 Yank, 1 South Korean and me a nice speed boat to fly through the water. Find some whales and follow them for a while but moving too fast to get in the water with, eventually find one that isn't doing 7mph and get in to swim with it, second swim we have found a mother and calf what an experience, awesome, great day had by all and nice to meet some new people. The night is spent in Tonga Bobs bar it's where most people hang out and stays open the longest.
The next few days I am am in VaVa'u doing very little but enjoying my time.
21st Aug:
Well it's here quicker than I'd expected and it's time to catch my flight back to the main land and then on to Fiji, I'm sat at the airport now waiting for Fiji flight and hoping they don't ask if I have an onward ticket from Fiji as I haven't so could be a bit of hassle if asked lol.
Got to main airport and was asked to show my ticket out of Fiji, bloody typical had one all the time and never asked now they choose to. I was left sweating for nearly 2 hours as the would book me one but only take payment in cash, only allowed $900 a day from cash point and it was over that plus went to machine and it wasn't working, in the end I had to sign all sorts, she said if bank doesn't confirm in 1 hour she will cancel ticket, which is good for me save me cackling it and sorting out rebate, still don't know if it's gone ahead or not.
Arrived Fiji airport and my girls where there to great me with a bottle of Fiji bitter in hand it was a lovely surprise, back to room dump bag and out to celebrate.
