Spent the early part of the day catching up on the travel blog, checking e-mails, etc.

Today was the Garden District walking tour. We followed the script in the Frommer's guidebook and saw a wide variety of architectural styles.The book says to allow 45 minutes to an hour for the tour -- we managed to get through all of it in about three. Since it was time for lunch and we were very close, we checked out the Commanders Palace restaurant for lunch but they have a dress code that doesn't allow shorts.

The guide book suggested some places on Magazine Street, but only gave an address for one of them. We walked down to Magazine and turned right and went into the Community Coffee to see if we could pick up a Magazine Street guide -- nope. But, when we asked about Parasol (the place that sounded like the best bet for lunch), the folks there were able to direct us to Tracey's, which is the new name of what used to be Parasol. One of the Community Coffee customers urged us to get the roast beef po-boy, which is what we did (one each).

The guide book mentioned Blue Frog Chocolates as being excellent, so we  took our sweet teeth and headed down Magazine Street to the 5800 block, which is just past the Whole Foods where we shopped last week. From Washington down to Arabella (the block in question), it was 37 blocks. The street is full of various and sundry shops, restaurants, bars, pawn shops, etc.

We stopped at Sucre and had a lovely little cake (Xocolat Sucre)  that was VERY chocolate. (This at 3025). We had spent a good amount of time in an antique mall looking for a particular style of earrings that JG had seen on someone -- no luck finding them.

We stumbled across another chocolate shop and had some clusters from there. It was so hot that the chocolate was melting in our hands as we walked along. We also stumbled across a new shop that was having its first day of business - a toffee maker called Magnolia Bay. JG took a picture of the ladies and we'll post it to their Facebook page so they have a memento of that first day.

We made it to Blue Frog just at 6, closing time. We made our selections and sat at Whole Foods to enjoy our iced chocolates and our chocolate bunny and frog, (Solid dark chocolate on the former and solid milk on the latter)

We walked up to St. Charles and had to wait about 20 minutes for a streetcar to come our way.We got back to the resor (nw 8:20), downloaded some things and caught a streetcar to Zea's for some more Thai ribs and some sweet potato bread pudding with a bourbon sauce. JG had a pomegranate Cosmopolitan and RC enjoyed a glass of Beringer white zinfandel. Back to the resort and to bed.

The frog had peanut butter in it. It was delicious. Richard's drink had carmal in it; about half way through the refreshment he shared that the taste of carmal was staying when he has found it usually doesn't.

We ate at the Commodore's Palace a few years ago and it was pretty nice - but very $$$. Strolling trio played 'Hang On Sloopy' for us, so that was a nice touch. The stadium in City Park is where the OSUMB rehearsed for this year's Sugar Bowl.
