Hola everyone,
uh, i just walked about three miles in 90 degree heat to chat with all of you. just kidding the heat is actually really nice compared to the temps and rain i hear you all are having in the athens area. things here are moving right along. lots of Spanish and lots of walking. i ate goat today for lunch and it was surprisingly delicious. everyone needs to go rangle up one of them goats and give them a try. We went dancing in the city last night and it was a lot of fun. Our dona´s call the scary creepsters that like to talk to American girls ´los tigres´. my dona is really funny she tells me to kick them when they come and try to talk to me. there is some nice kids our age here though. they are not all tigres and some really want to learn alot about us. The true testament to how amazing this place is is the children. we play baseball with a group of about twelve or thirteen each day. if i can download these pictures then you will see some of the pics of them. they truly are the heart and soul of this place. They are so positive and fun.
on Thursday of this week I will travel to Loma de Cabrera for four days to visit this guy who lives up there and is doing agro forestry up there for his service. he has been up there for one year and seems to love it. we all will go visit someone in our sector for three nights to really get a feel of what we are getting into. my first experience in the campo should be interesting. I will let everyone know how it goes.
Billy and Hank, call me back, i hope you had a good weekend with the shows.
If anyone wants to call me it is much cheaper considering my five dollar salary a day. Bianca and celie have the number for you Clearwater people and a good amount of folks have it in the Athens area. Please dont hesitate to call. my dona thinks is hilarious when the Americans call and cant understand her. i am an hour ahead of you so try not to call after nine your time. I would love to hear from everyone. i believe it is around 15 cents a minute for you. it is around sixty for me to call you. and it cost my family here nothing for you to call me.Dooooo it. Flip, call me up and i will test my Spanish on you.
Anyway, i hope everyone is doing well. i miss all of you but hope to see you sooner than Christmas if you want to vacation in a beautiful country. Take care...
Paz,
Lorena

How bout this, if you get homesick, you can read my nagging emails and then you'll be glad your away! ha-ha! Talk to ya Wd.
