Dungaree Beach Subic Bay
Note: I'm trying to recall all of these from my memory :)
I can't remember the exact date when we went to Subic. But I know it is summer of 2008. I am with my family. And was excited because it is my youngest son first trip to the beach.
It was just a whole day trip. We left early here in Manila and arrived at SBMA close to noon. It actually took as a while to look for a resort that would fit our budget that time. It was really a hassle. This is where I learned my lesson that you should book everything in advance!
We found this resort and it's called Dungaree beach. It was near the SBMA airport. I could remember that the entrance per person around that time is around 100 pesos. I'm not sure how much it is now.
The beach was okay. It has white sand. Not so fine though. Water is clear. Although it get's deep a few walks from the shore. Our kids usually stay as close to shore as possible. We rented a tent not a cottage because there were occupants already. I just can't remember how much it was back then. The disadvantage of having a tent is that when the sun becomes too hot it could get uncomfortable. Especially if you have small kids with you. Sometimes they would take nap times and it would be very difficult.
The only thing I hate in this resort is the shower rooms! It is so eeeeewwiiieee! I hope you could understand what I mean. It is so small, dark and dirty. There were shower rooms outside and that's where I showered. I forgot to leave a comment in their customer service area that time. I hope they have better shower rooms now.
We left afternoon same day. And we went for a little shopping in Subic's Puregold (I'm not sure if it was Puregold that time) before heading back to Manila. I had fun atleast. Will I recommend Dungaree beach? Yes, I guess, to those who needs to freshen themselves and get away with stress. You see Subic is quite near Manila. 3-4 hours drive via NLEX. They have nice beaches there and there are a lot of things to do in Subic. :)
