Wednesday was much easier in the body with a 5.25 mile hike into Lathrop Canyon. The trail was relative flat (yay) and cross a pasture for the first mile them transitioned to slickrock and sand. We would rate this an easy hike and one that has some of the best views yet especially for the views. The picture gives you the view we had during our lunch break. Amazing! 

The hike was fantastic....an easy 2.5 hours. Free that we drove around Island in the Sky district looking at all do the overlooks and none compared to the one we hiked. 

Later in the afternoon we decided to visit Upheaval Dome - an unusual geological feature that scientists to this day do not understand how it was created. It was either the result of a meteor slamming into the ground or a salt dome that collapsed. Nonetheless the colors in the center of the crater are incredible. The camera just does not capture the true color 

We hiked to the second overlook of upheaval dome which was a total 1.6 miles....baby hike but that was enough for our bodies. 

After hiking we returned to Adobe Abode got cleaned up and relaxed a bit before dinner at Bucks Grill. Hmmmm....so so food and the service was equally so so. 

Thursday is a light day again. The plan is to hike some trails in Arches.
