I wish I was a braver person and could pack like this guy who travels with 10 lbs or less

I do plan to follow his lead on how to score bigger and better things with jokes -- I'm good with funny in case you haven't noticed. :) I am toying around with his idea of having a "settling fund,” to buy needed items once they’re 100% needed so that I can avoid carrying so much, but I have a deep seated fear of $50 bottles of sunscreen. Help me.
Trying to pack for a month makes me think of all the things I wish I had:
1) a Harry Potter style suitcase that looks small enough to get on the plane but opens up to be room sized
2) dehydrated stuff that I need a lot of- I need to take about 5 gallons of sunscreen but can't spare the space in the suitcase. Wish there was a powder or something that would be as big as a pack of cigarettes but I could add water to make the 5 gallons.
3) 4 ipods
4) 4 e-readers

I'm basically packing for a week and planning to do laundry a lot. Biggest idea: backpacks for the kids on the plane which will be their daypacks for excursions. I found some good ones on sale today at Sports Authority!
I was at SA today too- flip flops, hat, DEET. Rob and I have 6pm.com backpacks for carry on and I'm pretty sure the kids have some too. Great minds think alike :)
when will you know about the strike? no jumping out of airplanes!
love ya'll!
have fun and be safe!
a trip of a lifetime!
E-readers *rock* - highly recommend them as a worthwhile investment (maybe not for the the trip but @ some point). *Love* the idea of the Harry Potter suitcase. I so want 3 of those. :) And, just an idea...what about getting the biggest packets of sunscreen you can find or buying tons of those sunscreen towelettes? > Easier/lighter to pack.
I have a nook, but I am the only family member with one. I have to keep shooing people away from it
