(Mom's big journey to Colorado)


We stopped at a rest area in Kansas. There was a gift shop that sold Wizard of Oz and tornado memorabilia. It made me very happy. I got a t-shirt about what happened to everyone in the movie. It was very wrong. :D

Driving across the plains was just amazing. Green grass forever! I likened it to someone taking hold of a sheet of astroturf and just RUMPLING it... and that's what it looked like to me. I could see storms rolling through from SO far away!

Once, we even passed by some age-old wagon trail tracks that just meandered off into the distance.
