This morning we went shopping in Emmeloord. Our objective was to get Mike an "official" Euro 2000 shirt- orange of course. We were successfull.
Natasha and I were having a rest, while Mike went to buy his shirt. As I was sitting on the bench, a man approached and said something to me in Dutch. I said I didn't speak dutch, and that I was Canadian. He responded, in English, and asked me if I was Dutch. I said no, I'm Scottish. Guess I can pass for Dutch! Cool!
Should you find a spelling error -- let me know! My spelling is not the gratest- I mean, greatest!
After shopping we stopped by Annemiek's house and we met her daughter, Jorien as well. WE had some coffee, chatted a bit, then headed back to Bert and Rhe's.
What a busy day! Then we had some lunch, a bit of a rest and then off to a little town called Geithoorn.
Geithoorn was lovely! It is a very old Dutch town, with only canal access! Check out some of the photos of the place. The buildings had the old thatch roofs. It was a nice and relaxing afternoon.
After Geithoorn, we headed to another family farm for a quick hello.
Then! To top off our day, Mike and I headed over to Sneek in Friesland! We were going to watch the soccer game of Netherlands vs Denmark at Mike's cousin's place. Afterwards, when Netherlands won (OF COURSE!) we all headed to the bars of Sneek for some after game partying!
