The weather in Portland was like New Zealand, Rainy, Grey and Green, which was fine with us. We met our next hosts, Evy and Kurt, who had a dog who was over One Hundred dog years old, Pookie. They lived in a Really green place called Sherwood, about thirty minutes from the city. The next day we went to Powells, a book store a block long, which was really cool. We spent several hours there. The next day we went to a school, as Kurt is an Elementry school teacher we went there for a day, which was fun. We then went to the YMCA to swim and dad played a bit of basketball, and we left around ten o'clock. We went to Powells again on a aerial tram. That night we went to a bar to watch the NBA finals. we then went to the beach for a Marshmellow and Frankfurter roast, until the local police came and said we werent supposed to do it. The next day we packed our bags and left for Washington.
