We started the day with a walk in the bright shining sun. We strolled the area moving easily between planning our time in Athens and sharing anecdotes from our trip.  We settled into a very nice brunch with some local types.  Almost immediately, the server mentioned in passing the looming issues with the Greek economy.

We did some research on tours to see the city and most particularly the world famous Acropolis.  It turns out that the term acropolis means edge of the city (from the Greek akros/akron meaning edge/extremity and polis meaning city) and in fact many ancient cities had their own acropolis.

In the afternoon we had a rest then met by the pool for some sun and a dip.  After a quick soak in the hot tub we reconvened for a fabulous happy hour, including a nice snacky spread.  We got wrapped up in sharing tales of our travels and what has been going on at home to the point that we ended up staying there and forgoing a formal dinner.

We toasted the view of the Acropolis lit up at night and went to bed as our tour left bright and early.
