On our last day in Cappadocia we slept in and loitered about the pansiyon revelling in the otherworldly view before flying back to Istanbul later in the day. Catching up on email and the blog we were amazed at how quickly the past 2 weeks has gone by!

This got us thinking and reminiscing about our trip and how the 8 (plus) months since we left Toronto has flown by.  Time is such a paradox.  It simultaneously feels like ages ago that we were sweating in 42C sun in the centre of Australia and realistically that it was like yesterday.

We have seen and experienced so much that it will take time for us to RE-remember it all – hopefully this blog and all of our pictures & video will help.

We moved down the hill to the café from last night for the wifi and to get Mia one more of Ali's terrific Lattes.  We played some Tavla, Mia dominated – of course, and soaked up the afternoon.  We were on time for our punctual bus, disappointed to see that it was empty and that meant we were going on a circuit to pick up people at their hotel (we had been assured that the office pick up would be the last pick up).  They asked us to move seats as they managed everyone’s (MASSIVE) luggage and we annoyingly obliged.

When we got on the plane, we realized that we were seated in the 3rd row...we had been upgraded to business class!! We were very excited and took photos of eachother while we got cozy in our oversized seats.  Unfortunately, before we knew it, the plane was already landing - it was only a 50 minute flight.

At the airport we went through the routine with ease drifting along, tactically choosing when to join the lines, knowing everyone would get on the plane.  On landing we navigated the transit system with familiarity, and travelled from the western burbs across the Bosphorous strait to the eastern Anatolian shore.

We met with Lynn (our generous host) and eagerly chatted for a short spell before we all were ready for a rest.
