Today was a great day, sun, the ocean(!!!) and beautiful scenery. We saw some more lighthouses and plugged on from our buggy municipal campground to Perce. Along the way we saw arguably Quebec's most beautiful parks (Forillon National Park) where we walked into the Atlantic Ocean! For those of you who have not experienced it, it might well be colder than Tofino. Just for kicks Jen made me go in twice for pictures as the first one wasn't quite right... Lucky me!
After Forillon we made our way through Gaspe and on to Perce. Not too much to report other than our woes in finding the campsite we had singled out from the book we got at the Quebec border. We thought it was right across from the Rocher Perce park... but not so much then we looked at the map again and it appeared much further from town so I was instructed I should pull over (to get the news) so I pulled over and we decided it was best to try a campsite in town. I pulled back onto the road to look for somewhere to turn around and not 50 feet down the road was the campsite we were looking for. Laughs all around.
We got to the office but had to wait as an older lady with pink hair and half a bottle of gold eye shadow on each eye behind the desk did not speak a lick of English and her coworker dealt with our type. That was in my words not hers, because she didn't even try to speak to us. Oh well C'est la Vie.
We managed to get set up before the marine fog rolled through and sit out with a glass of wine and some nibblies, but the bugs were too much so we retired to reading, eating and drinking in the tent.
Night was good once the crazies turned down the volume... the next morning... not so much!
