Today was another great day on the road. We started just outside of Quebec City at the KOA and woke up to a beautiful day. We had our morning wakeup call and we were on the road, showered and cleaned up, by 9 am. Today was the start of our trip around the Gaspe Peninsula. This was exciting because we originally had our trip planned to end in Quebec City and we had 5 days in our schedule to add where we saw fit. As it turned out we hadn't used these days when we hit mid Ontario so we elected to use them to see more of Quebec. The Gaspe Peninsula was a good solution.
The peninsula is known for its lighthouses along the way around the entire mass of land. We elected to see a few of them at various locations around the peninsula. These pictures will be scattered throughout today, tomorrow, and likely even Tuesday.
We did a tour of Pointe-Au-Pere lighthouse, making our way up 182 steps and 2 ladders into the glass globe that is the light-room. As it turns out... it is hot up there... and the tour was "En Francais" but the guide was told 2 ppl on the tour spoken english so she filled in the important bits for us after.
All and all a great day. we ended up in a municipal campsite in a small town (village) just east of Ste. Anne Des Monts, but it was too small for Travelpod to find. Checking in was good though the lady didn't speak english we could limp our way through it!
