Before sunrise, we packed up, got the van out of the sand and headed into the park. The gates open at sunrise and its an hour drive to the big dunes.
These dunes are a main tourist attraction in Namibia. They tower to 1500 ft. above the surrounding landscape. Some people snowboard here. We spent at least three hours out in them. They were strange and profound. I had excellent meditation there and saw a lizard disappear before my eyes.
We ate lunch under an acacia and headed to the coast. I thought I wouldn't see the ocean until Kenya, so I was elated to find out we were going to the beach. I also wanted to get some sand and dust off.

Red Sand Dunes of S. Africa
The photos were remarkable, and the dunes appeared to be unbelieveable. I enjoyed the photos, and hope one day to view them in reality.
