Mike's parents and his sister's family were able to come visit us for the New Year. Traveling in Europe with babies is difficult, so everything stayed very low key. We returned to Rothenburg to spend New Year's Eve and ended up taking cover in our hotel room from all of the fireworks. Not a display by the city, but just people running around in the streets with fireworks...pretty scary. We did get another helping of the Nightwatchmen Tour, walking on their beautiful wall, and Christmas ornament shopping until we dropped. I wonder if it's Christmas here in July, too?
January 1st we drove to Garmisch (where Mike and I spent Christmas) so that the litlle girls could have some recovery time in a peaceful place.
The tallest mountain in Germany is here...the Zugspitze. We were all able to take a cable car to the top to have a light lunch. We went outside to the viewing deck, but it was SO cold! We got a few pictures and had to run back inside. We took a train down from the mountain with all of the skiers at the end of the day. The girls were still having a tough time, so they took the night and next day off to rest a little more at the hotel.
