Where I stayed
Prague has such an amazing history. The first day we were there we went on a walking tour led by a boy who goes to the University there. His English was perfect and the way he told us about his home kept us interested for the entire 3 hr walk. For any history buffs, here's the quick and oversimplified rundown: Prague seems to have changed hands and gov'ts every couple hundred years. King Charles from the 14th century had the biggest positive impact on the country - so most things in town are named after him
The Czech food is still what we would consider very Eastern European...it fills you up and they serve it in bulk, but flavor is not a huge part of the meal. We mostly ate some variation of Czech/Italian. I did have a Nutella crepe from some street vendor that might have been my favorite food so far. Prage and the Czech Republic's specialty is beer - which is why Mike wanted to go there so much. I have to admit that I don't think beer tastes good, but when they physically make it in the restaurant and bring it out to you - it's actually not that bad. Mike was in heaven...
It was chilly, but not cold - and rained the whole time we were there. That's what hats and umbrellas are for, right?
