Well it was a long weekend in Poland so we "when in Poland.... do as the Poles". We packed up the car and headed north to the Baltic Sea and the Hel peninsula. It is the Mecca for windsurfers and kitesailers. Who knew HEL was such a popular place? And such a lovely spot..... We stayed in the middle of the 30km peninsula in a town called Chalupy which is famous for two things, one being windsurfing and the other that it boosts the only NUDE beach in all of Poland. Will someone please tell me why nudies like to wear hats and sunglasses?
Chalupy is so small. How small is it? You have to set up your windsurfer in the water... (Ha!) Well when I asked Igor's cousin Alek "Ok, so where is the downtown?" He just laughed...and laughed. Anyway it turns out there is no downtown... who knew? But I did find the only vegetarian restaurant on the sea. That's right I bet the bank chuckled at their business plan.
