I don't know whether you guys see this stat when you come along to have a look at this twaddle I write but up to now since we left the UK, there have been 279 visits to this rubbish!!

Now I can't tell whether there have been 279 different people looking once each or whether it's just the five who have posted comments looking at it three times a day but whoever you are reading this - thanks.  We're pleased that some entertainment is being supplied.  Special thanks to those of you who have added comments.  It's greatly appreciated....

It's Tuesday today and we're looking forward to the Diwali celebrations this evening.  It appears fireworks are going to be a big feature.  Don't expect photos of them though as I'm always too slow on the trigger....

We got rid of the friends, Alan and Sally, that we spent time with last week on Saturday.  Shipped them off back to the UK (You two should be back at work now guys - hope it's not too bad!!!) and we've had to put a bit of effort into dumping ourselves onto someone else.  Anyway, we 've managed that now and replaced them with Peter and Margot and with Graham and Jane but never the less the last couple of days have been a bit quiet and we've not done too much.

We caught the bus into the local town yesterday.  An hour on a bus that, at times, looked just like the pictures you used to see with people hanging off every available railing.  The bus said standing room for 11 only.  More like 111, I reckon!  Great fun though.  And 20 kilometres for 18 pence.  Bargain!!  Margao was equally manic.  You've never seen so much traffic.  I think London's bad but this was a different world.  We have seen motor scooters with four up, we've seen them riding pillion - sidesaddle, and we've heard horns - lots of horns.  But everyone just gets on with it.  I don't think road rage has landed here yet.

Margao was unremarkable.  We ticked off all the sights in Lonely Planet and were done in a couple of hours and it really was hot so we ventured back for another 18 pence worth and headed for a late lunch (spicy potato wedges!) by the pool.

The day after Margao, we spent a lazy day on the beach.  I think the last two photos just about sum it up without the need for any more rubbish from me...

The yellow bloom is a canna lily. When you get to Grenada, Jane, you will see lots in the garden. Enjoying reading about your adventure.
