Lester's wife, Delphine, had suggested that we might choose to pop to see Le Mont-St-Michel which seemed like a splendid idea.

So we headed North and picked a campsite at which to build our house.  Now, we're seven weeks plus into this trip and have, up to now, rocked up anywhere we've pleased and purchased a pitch for the night.  Not this time.  "Sorry monsieur, 'ave you a "reservation"?".  Sadly, we had not, so plan B was to "do" the mont first and then to head East to find a spot to rest our heads.

Only our route to Le Mont was blocked by two very nice gendarmes who informed us - I think! - that we had to go a different way.  Only when seeking the different way, did we spot all the "Le Tour 2013" signs and worked out that there might be even more cyclists here than there were on the Ile.....

No way could we find a way to get to the island.  It was there - tantalisingly out of reach and looking ever so pretty - but could we get to it?  We could not!

Sadly, we abandoned our quest and headed East, ending up in a campsite on the edge of a little town called Villedieu les Poeles, a delightful site in a lovely town - except that the town itself was evidently shut on Wednesday's.....  Our choice of restaurants was limited to one.  Their fish curry was small - very small - and I'm still hungry from it...
