That's it.  Leg one complete.

It was a fantastic journey and I loved every minute of it - apart perhaps the climb up from Wast Water - and Berwick on Tweed!

The bus performed spectacularly - and now has to prove itself to the MOT man next week.

I ended up doing 986 (proper not "bus") miles at an average of about 21.5 mpg.  Although it's not good economy, I'm not too displeased with that considering we've been hauling a couple of tons around some fairly steep terrain.

I've been some places that I've not long even knew existed - and they've been well worth the effort to get there.

Hope the pictures have been worth looking at even if the blog's not that of a literary genius!

Anyway, Shirl says that she got on alright without me so I'm ok to plan leg two!

But before the next touring leg, I fancy seeing if I can learn to surf.  Anyone fancy a week (or two??) in Devon in the summer?!?!

Kneel on

Don't do it pa - surfing is one of the most tedious past times I've ever tried my hand at. You'd have far more fun reading a book (even a fiction one) or watching Babel again or even just sitting still with your eyes closed for an hour.

Glad you're home safe, talk to you soon!
