Right, start date is 28 March.  I've got three (Note: now less than one) weeks to get the bus shipshape and loaded up with essentials - red wine, beer etc....

I'm on with the planning now.  Hadn't realised how much work there would be sorting out a route, together with campsites, walks, bike rides etc for a two to three week tour like this.  Anyway, bottom line is I now know that due to prior commitments for which I have to be back home by Easter, I don't have time to do the whole route that I'd hoped so I've had to re-think and abort the Highlands section of the trip until another time.

So hopefully, I've got a realistic itinerary on the table now, involving getting as far as the Scottish borders having "done" Yorkshire, Durham and Northumberland, and saving Cumbria for the trip home.

The "bus" is primed and ready to go.  Just need to load it up now...

So, less than a week to go now.  The transport's ready, the pile of supplies is growing and the route is sort of finalised.  I'm going to look a bit of a prat if this all goes horribly wrong and I can't get off the drive!

First port of call is York and the plan is to find a wireless hotspot when I get there (immediatley after I have made a cup of tea and set up the satellite tv!) and share my experiences (of the M1 amongst other things - if you hear of a long, long tailback heading North on the motorway on Monday, don't call me!!)

If I can't find a hotspot I will try to add a note from my phone just so all you interested viewers can rest assured that I've achieved phase one!

Til Monday then...

Brilliant, I am so excited about this whole venture, wish I was going to be there too!
At this stage do you know where you will be on Friday 8th April? I cannot offer much fun and excitement as we are away boarding on the evening of the 9th but I can maybe offer company and a meal out if you're free?!

There's a lot of miles to be done between now and 8 April Vic. Not even sure I'll have managed to get out of the West Mids by then!!

Still the offer of a good homecooked meal (!) - and hopefully a nice hot shower (??) is noted and I will attempt to fit this into the itinerary.

Many thanks... See you on the 8th?!
