Erin and I cleaned up around the condo and dropped off the keys at the front office. We had a balance of about $25 from phone usage. All of this was from AOL dial up. Sze got us a two month free trial membership which we used at the condo. 60 cents per call (which is a bargain because we'd dial up and stay on line all day), however there were some strange taxes of more than $3 per day for the phone use. I'd say it was totally worth it though since Borders was the only place with t-mobile wifi and all the other internet cafes charged something like 20 cents per minute.

Then we dropped of the snorkel gear at Snorkel Bob's and headed to the airport. Erin dropped me off and then went to get gas, buy some souvenirs and drop of the rental car. She goes to Honolulu from here and then to Seattle before returning to L.A. on September 13 for Jen and Chris' reception.

Check in was a snap with an automated machine that printed the ticket. Just had to drop off my bags at the counter with no line (as opposed to the one with a super long line for those with paper tickets). I declared my pineapple and went through security. Decided to buy a few last minute souvenirs myself. Some chocolate for Danny, tea for Dayni and Kona coffee and tea for Sze. Don't buy souvenirs at the airport! It was really over priced.

Fortunately I got to the gate early because my flight was about to board. How is that possible with me being early? They changed my flight to an earlier time without any notice. It was an hour earlier than the one that I had purchased. Oops, forgot to call and confirm that.

Flew into Honolulu and then had to switch planes. I got myself a veggie burger from Burger King. It wasn't great but it sure beat what they tried to serve me on the plane. Why does the veggie meal have to be so weird? They served the regular folks a choice of three entrees: chicken enchilada, ham sandwich or cheese lasagna. Of course the lasagna was the first thing to go and I probably wouldn't have gotten that even if I tried. Instead they brought me my "special meal" which was a warm brown mound with some cooked cabbage. Really gross...

Slept. Read. Watched the television programs about travel and the movie. Time passed at a decent pace. Landed in San Diego. Sze picked me up. We were happy to be reunited and to be home.
