Early one Saturday morning we headed into the city to hike up a very large hill overlooking the older area of Santiago... a park called Cerro San Cristobal. It is a massive park, gaining the title as the largest urban park in the world... due mostly in part to it's height. Our goal was to go to the top, where a massive statue of Mary was erected... overlooking this capital city of a country with around 70% catholics. The park is filled with innumerable trails, paved and dirt... a zoo... a korean garden... restaurants... a massive public swimming pool... a church... and much more.
It was a great weekend outing!
