Kapadokya... ahhhhh.... and sharing our favorite place in Turkey with our good friends Ray, Linda and their beautiful daughter Sophia was a perfect way to spend our waning days here before we make our move to Santiago, Chile.

Kapadokya has always been a magical place for us to explore...   by car, horse, mountain bike, 4 wheeler and especially on foot.

Some of the fond memories include...

enjoying Carsten, Aidan and Sophia running and climbing through the various sinuous canyons  surrounding Goreme...

watching our musical friends coax the cords of their violins as they played an after dinner tune for Ali and family...

leaning back and listening to Ray's ethereal flute playing...

laying on the dew covered grass... watching collared doves playfully dip and dive in the soft morning winds... the sounds of prayers echoing throughout the old town...

hanging out in Ali's carpet shop... with the unveiling of spinning carpets landing with a soft kushhhh on the wooden floor...

riding horses with the kids through the cracks and crevices weaving between the rose and zemi valleys... listening to their stories of past rides...

warm pide... rolled, pulled, plied and peppered... placed in a wood fired oven... bubbled and browned to perfection... plucked and plopped on plastic plates...  gourmet without pomp...

the clickety clack of horse hooves on cobble...

sinking ever deeper into pillowed floor couches...

a worms jog through gnarled overgrowth on forgotten singletrack...

rice pudding, warmed, browned and served with love...

Ali's shy teenage son catching quick peeks at Sophie... interrupted by his vivaciously outgoing daughter's entrance into the room... showering all with vigorous hugs and smiles...

Linda's passions... rugs... people... food... architecture... rolling hills... twisted grape vines...

the sounds of prayers... reminding me to be thankful...
