Living the expat lifestyle in Turkey is not always filled with journeys to exotic landscapes filled with local living the 'old ways', nor does it always encompass jaunts through ruins where the ancients once lived and died... many times it is filled with just downright normal, everyday common living... like... bringing our boys to their football games... a trip to the open air market for some fresh fruits and vegies... with a Sunday morning jaunt to the zoo... of course our drive through the countryside, returning to our neighborhood via the long way... entails a short jaunt through the remnants of an aged village, desperately clinging to a fraction of the old ways, as the capital city of Ankara... increasingly surrounds it in a sea of turmoil... a sign that the old never lies far behind...
