Accademia Hotel Rome

Arrived at 11.00am at the Hotel Accademia, cosy but quite functional.We went straight out onto the street and boarded a topless bus, ideal for a quick whip around the city.
First to the Colloseum, (AD 72) queue about 200m long so we checked it out from the outside, still very impressive. Jane picked up a lovely Indian scarf from a dodgy seller for 5 euro.
Next, to the Vatican, queue about 500m so we observed from a distance.
After a cruise around the shops along the Via Corso we settled in at the "l'allegro Pachino" Restuarant, for a couple of bottles of Chianti and dinner of : garlic & tomato bruscetta, lasagne entre, Beef fillet with green peppercorn sauce, fries & salad and pizza marinara followed by Tira Misu and expressos. Easily the best meals of our holidays so far! Viva Italia.
Tomorrow, another wander around the city, then to Arezzo by train.

Viva la somewhere.....
Great photos of Roma! That food sounds sooo good. Happy Birthday for 18th John!!!!! We are heading off from Port Augusta at 8.30am this morning and fly out to Bowen tomorrow. Safe travels, Pat & John xxxxx

Where did you pick up the Scarf model?
Roma - the home country - did you know Italy has a fat tax - you are secretly weighed going in and going out of the country, and a bill is sent on to your next destination - no pay - we send over the mafia. Maybe try having just a couple of wines a day, instead of per meal. Tried the blood orange juices? Had your bottom pinched yet? All sounds like FUN.

Well some might find it unlikely that a girl is touched up on public transport in Rome..obviously men, but any female who travels alone or walks through the station is likely to have her bottom touched.In my case it happened even when in the company of a group of men.I also had my breast squeezed and my purse stolen. Dont go on the train alone..
