The weather is still perfect, although today is a little cloudier and a cool breeze is coming over the crater as we have breakfast.
Well, a couple of things to report. We have learnt some interesting facts about the Greek sewerage system! We had noticed a sign in the the bathrooms warning us not to put paper, objects, etc down the toilet, which we thought was fair enough. However, after an unpleasant incident involving the floor drain (which we won't go into) we realised that the warning also included toilet paper. This is placed in a small bin which is collected every morning by the hard working cleaning lady.
Not sure if this is a Santorini thing or Greece in general, perhaps Michael from Myer can elucidate for us.
Every evening we have noticed an old lady near an abandoned house across from us who sits on a chair to watch the sunset. She looks about 120 and has the interesting habit of lifting her skirts and urinating on the ground. We and our fellow guests all have our own theories as to who she is and what she is doing there (besides urinating). We think she comes to reminisce about her dead husband and the house she grew up in, who knows?
Tomorrow we have booked a boat cruise around the volcanoe, I've included some photos of the brochure. Just wondering if we will end up a chocolate colour while being peeked with amazement by the people staring at us.
Last night saw us at the Kasteli restaurant, traditional roast pork and a meatball dish, both simple but delicious. Jane is booked in for a hair cut this morning and I will attempt to negotiate the intricacies of the Greek postal system (open 8am to 2pm Mon to Fri!)

The tone has dropped!
Not that I am not interested in the ins and outs of Greek toilets and the unattractive habits of old Greek ladies mind you! Most amusing!

Enjoy the cruise!

P.S. To continue the theme, do you think you will have to hang over the side of the boat?

I LOVED the time exposure videos of the sunset, very clever!
