2 Dec 2008 – Tegucigalpa, Honduras

Our flight attendants were late so we of course arrive in Tegucigalpa late. The women next to me stored an extremely large carry on under her feet and she looked uncomfortable the whole time.  Flying into Tegucigalpa was probably the most terrifying moment of my life.  The runway is just long enough to actually be a runway.  We fly in towards the mountain, make a sharp turn, and land.  Many Hondurans were praying out loud, and everyone clapped that we arrived safely.

Of course, our bags were sent to our original airport.  Fortunately we packed all of our clothes on our carryon, but the medicine and our liquids (soap, shampoo, etc) didn't come with us.  We stopped at Global Brigades headquarters to pick up medicines since we had no idea when we would get ours.

E-mail to family:
"I'm here and alive!  Our suitcases didn't come with us... but they will
get here eventually.  Good thing we had carryons!  The airline is gave
us $500 to get stuff for the brigade so it works out!  We don't have
liquids like shampoo and bugspray until like thursday...

love you guys!

Cori"
